Choosing an organization, especially a religious organization to align yourself with and choose to become community with takes a great deal of discernment, prayer, investigation, and evaluation.
Although the Salesians are a wonderful religious order it didn't take long living within the community to see that it wasn't going to be a good fit for Liz and I. The good news is that God revealed this to us early on and not while already living in Bolivia. Somewhat saddened to say goodbye to our newly acquired friends, Liz and I are now returning to what we know and will redirect our missionary plans to Guatemala. Once making the decision both Liz and I were filled with peace. I couldn't help but to think that God's plan all along was for Liz and I to work and serve in Guatemala, it just took us a few months to figure it out!
Here is a short video from the second week of Salesian orientation and our heart-felt goodbye to our friends.
