Below is the slide show and presentation we shared at the benefit dinner given to us at Our Lady of Mercy Parish on 05/17/2015. It was a wonderful opportunity to share our past experiences from Guatemala and also our plans for Bolivia. I was completely overwhelmed by the number of people who came to the event and the love, appreciation, and support from our parish family and friends.

Mission presentation olm from Deacon Pat-Liz Kearns
I am still processing last Sunday afternoon...... The "Right to Life" group wanted to plan and give Liz and me a benefit dinner to help raise funds for our mission. When Donna from the group initially approached me to ask about planning the fund-raising event I was a little hesitant thinking that maybe we would have 6-8 people show up! hahahah
A little reluctant, I agreed.... Well, I was so totally blown away on Sunday, over 200 hundred people showed up..... and so many helped organize the event offering their time and resources (Food, musicians, etc.)
Probably one of the highlights, after being so totally humbled by those who came, was that Liz and I were asked to prepare and give a PowerPoint presentation of our past (10 years) experiences of mission trips to Guatemala and what we were planning for Bolivia. The presentation lasted almost 40 minutes with pictures and videos. Probably the best comment I heard, second-hand, was that someone relayed, "A guy next to me said that he was planning on sneaking out during the presentation but he said that it was so interesting that he stayed." Also others said, "So many people were crying at the stories that were shared" ..... THANKS BE TO GOD!
I caught a small glimpse of missionary life = sharing with others the unique power of relationships and how God's hand is always in those relationships.
Only 8 weeks left until we leave for NYC for the beginning of our missionary journey. NYC to Guatemala to Bolivia
Thank you everyone, this is only possible because of you!
